I never imagined I would find myself so happy after such a challenging (for me, personally) day but here I am after a long day still as excited as I was in the morning.
Last year I was to be on a television show but didn't want to talk about it in case of bad vibes and it was so good I didn't talk about it as it ended up being put on hold for a while and only got picked back up this year. I was fortunate enough to get back on the show and seeing as I have already done some segments I feel like I can talk about it at last. If you follow me on twitter you might have seen some of the random tweets after a day of filming so here's a look at the kinds of things I do for the show. I mainly wanted to do this blog for those of you in Adelaide who have yet to do this: KAYAKING WITH DOLPHINS, SHIPWRECKS AND MANGROVES! It is amazing and I can't believe I haven't heard of this adventure until my producer brought it up.
I am not an outdoors sort (anymore), I grew out of it and detest doing anything physical especially if it's a sunny day. I hate sunny days with a passion! However I surprised myself today by lasting three hours in hot, sunny conditions while paddling like a crazy person...okay, maybe not so much "crazy" paddling (judging by the photo above I obviously let my guide do the paddling mostly! Kidding, I actually did more paddling than him - I am prettttttty sure!) but strenuous enough that I felt like I did a proper work out. That is what kayaking definitely is: a great work out. If you push yourself hard enough and forgo taking it easy (like some people on the tour).
(Producer and cameraman - so lucky to have such a great team!)
It was such a great experience today and I would like to thank ABC for giving me such a fantastic opportunity. Definitely gave me more motivation to appreciate more physical and outdoors-y activities!
I don't really want to go into what the tour was like in case I spoil it for anyone (even though I told you what it entails) but it is so worth doing it because what you see/do in person cannot be depicted through photos. I loved it and I fully intend on doing the tour again with Scott.
I totally recommend you do this adventure if you are in South Australia and looking for something affordable but super fun to do! The price includes the gear (kayak, paddle, life vest, containers to keep valuables in like cameras, etc.) and you are taken on a very safe tour with guides who are so helpful and informative. Let me know if you do it too!
