24 Hours of What?!

Seeing this challenge on Nuffnang I very nearly clicked away...but then I stopped myself and convinced myself that this is something I wanted to do just to prove to myself that I can! What is it you say? Are you sure you want to get sucked into it too? Your ego will suck you in, trust me!

The 24 Hour Switch Off Challenge!!! Switch off your connection to the online world entirely - Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, texting, calling, porn - whatever! The idea is to give yourself a well deserved break from constant refreshing, stalking, obsessing, overspending and over-sharing and just do something else like read a book, have a conversation with your fish, cook a proper meal, or go for a walk!

So are you going to do it? You can bet your arse I'm going to:
- Keep my laptop off
- Switch off my iPad
- Turn my iPhone off
- Try to resist the urge to tweet
- Relish the fact that I don't have Facebook so won't have withdrawal symptoms, whooo!
- Wonder what's going on in Instagram world
- Probably have a sleepless night because I'm going to be so excited for the 29th when I can catch up on the world!

Quickie: China Glaze 'Fast Track'

I love the pretty gold and nude combination - I didn't expect to love this as much as I do but it is so gorgeous and I can't wait to try and bling it with black lace and rhinestones and...okay, maybe that's out of my abilities but I can dream can't I?

NYX Nude on Nude palette - Daily Look

(With foundation on and a different lip color - makes so much difference! Bad eyebrows though haha)

I've been getting a lot of searches for NYX Nude on Nude palette looks so I thought I would start doing a look-a-day series using the palette which would be a good challenge for me since my initial thoughts on the palette were hardly raving. However since doing that review I have used the palette a fair bit and found that although there are still a lot of colors that I have issues with, there are some combinations that have been winners for me. How can I not share them with you too?

China Glaze The Hunger Games collection and Prismatic collection

I made my biggest nail polish purchase in my entire life last week and all seven polishes arrived today (yesterday actually but neither Scott or I were home). I remember after making the purchase I realized I had become more serious about painting my nails and seemed to care more about what colors I used (instead of my standard black or very, very dark purple). Slightly worrying but a little bit of a relief since I hardly want to add to my nail polish collection only to not use anything.

This is my first China Glaze purchase and probably the first time I've gotten polishes from a specific collection. A lot of firsts with these nail polishes.

Filming and Kayaking

I never imagined I would find myself so happy after such a challenging (for me, personally) day but here I am after a long day still as excited as I was in the morning.

Last year I was to be on a television show but didn't want to talk about it in case of bad vibes and it was so good I didn't talk about it as it ended up being put on hold for a while and only got picked back up this year. I was fortunate enough to get back on the show and seeing as I have already done some segments I feel like I can talk about it at last. If you follow me on twitter you might have seen some of the random tweets after a day of filming so here's a look at the kinds of things I do for the show. I mainly wanted to do this blog for those of you in Adelaide who have yet to do this: KAYAKING WITH DOLPHINS, SHIPWRECKS AND MANGROVES! It is amazing and I can't believe I haven't heard of this adventure until my producer brought it up.

Psyche Minerals The Hunger Games Collection

Lets be honest: why do we overdo anything that's good to death? I'm somewhat sick of The Hunger Games hype now to be honest but that's only because the movie was disappointing as...firetrucks. Seriously, so much hype over the movie and it wasn't that great. The books were so much better. Always is the case.

That said I have been excited for the inspired collections appearing left right and center out there. I decided to stick with one collection though and that was Psyche Minerals' collection (as for nails, have you seen China Glaze's collection?! Totally have some on the way).
